Fort Immanuel

This is the fort from which Fort Kochi gets its name. The fort was named after the Portuguese king as the representation of the goodwill between the allies - Kochi and Portugal. It was built in 1503, and the fort was later partly destroyed by the Dutch and English. The fort is in ruins now - you can find the remains spread out around the Fort Kochi beach.
