Mylanthra House, a riverside heritage home, is a 75-year-old, well-maintained bungalow built of bricks, wooden ceilings, and roofing and flooring done with old clay tiles. The calm village atmosphere, in an area of 1.25 acres of land, full of trees and good breeze from the Vembanad Lake backwaters behind our homestay will enthrall you.

Small islands in the backwaters have shrimp farms and paddy fields surrounded by evergreen mangroves. We have our own Chinese fishing net which the guests can operate to catch fish. The fish so caught can be cooked and served by my wife Annie herself. We can arrange mechanised country boats for backwater boating for our guests. The homestay’s owners are Mr. Basil Mylanthra, 60, a retired senior marketing executive of an MNC and Annie Basil, 56, house wife and an expert in Kerala-style cooking. We treat our guests as our own family members and would like to understand different cultures of India and of the world.
